DAVAO CITY – To bolster peace and security in Northern Mindanao and the Caraga region, the 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division has joined forces with the Police Regional Offices 10 and 13, as well as the Philippine Coast Guard Districts of Northern and North Eastern Mindanao.

This collaboration was formally established through the ceremonial signing of the Joint AFP-PNP-PCG Campaign Plan “Maluntarong Pakighiusa,” held at the Misamis Oriental Police Provincial Office in San Martin, Villanueva, Misamis Oriental, on October 30, 2024.

The event was led by Major General Jose Maria R. Cuerpo II, Commander of the 4th Infantry Division, alongside key figures including Police Brigadier General Jaysen C. De Guzman, Acting Regional Director of PRO-10; Police Brigadier General Alan M. Nazarro, Regional Director of PRO-13; and Commodores Christopher DP Auro and Vincent Bingbong D. Fiesta, commanders of the Coast Guard Districts of North Eastern and Northern Mindanao, respectively.

The primary goal of the “Maluntarong Pakighiusa” campaign plan is to enhance cooperation among the involved agencies to conduct joint security operations, maintain peace and order, and provide development support.

This initiative aims to eradicate the influence of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG), combat criminal elements and syndicates, and ensure both maritime and public safety. Ultimately, this collaborative effort seeks to contribute to the socio-cultural and economic development of Regions 10 and 13.

In his address, Maj. Gen. Cuerpo II underscored the importance of this joint initiative, emphasizing the shared commitment to safeguarding communities and fostering lasting peace and development.

He noted that the agreement is a crucial step in addressing various threats and providing support to other agencies in the fight against criminal activities.

This united front reflects a strong commitment to coordination and cooperation, vital components in the ongoing battle against terrorism and insurgency in the region.
