Comelec proclaims Nancy Catamco as North Cotabato Governor

DAVAO CITY (May 16) — After the long wait, the Commission on Elections and North Cotabato board of canvassers proclaimed Congresswoman Nancy Alaan Catamco as the new governor.

Catamco garnered 272, 249 votes in defeating her closes rival Carmen Municipal mayor Rogelio Taliño 268,718.

Catamco thanked the people of North Cotabato for the support given to her, she vowed to stand with her campaign platforms to institute change and work for the development in her province.

Taliño is the father of Governor Emmylou Mendoza, who also won as vice governor during the Monday elections.

Mendoza got 326,718 votes defeating Board Member Socrates Piñol with 209,064 votes.

The Comelec also proclaimed the following as the Representatives: First District Joel Sacdalan; Second District Rudy Caoagdan; Third District Pingping Tejada.-NewsLine.ph
