M’LANG, Cotabato – Governor Nancy A. Catamco challenged graduates of Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) to use the skills they just acquired to fulfil their dreams in life.

At least 318 finished TESDA courses and received their certificates in a mass graduation ceremony held at the M’lang Municipal Gymnasium last April 13.

“Despite the struggles brought by the pandemic, to make our lives better, we must have the resourceful, patience and commitment to our work and to ourselves so we can reach for our dreams,” Catamco told the graduates.

The courses have been funded by TESDA’s Training for Work Scholarship Program (TWSP) Bayanihan 2 and Scholarship Training for Employment Program (STEP) in collaboration with the 3rd District Representative Jose I. Tejada.

Of the 318 graduates, 87 were from M’lang; 42 from Matalam town; 84 from Kabacan town; 42 from Banisilan town; and 63 from the town of Tulunan.

The courses offered were Cake and Bread Making; Poultry Chicken Production; Animal Production (swine); Sloughtering Operations; Backhoe Loader and Bulldozer Operation; Security Services; Dress Making and Carpentry Services.

Tejada thanked Catamco and TESDA for bringing the technical education courses to the people of the 3rd District of Cotabato.

He also challenged the graduates to value the things they learned as not everyone got the opportunity to enroll with TESDA.

TESDA Provincial Director Norhaya Acas also announced during the ceremony that aside from the certificates, graduates would also receive toolkits and allowances.

Those who witnessed the graduation include M’lang Mayor Russel Abonado, Tejada’s wife Nilda Tejada and teachers from USM-College of Agriculture Training and Assessment Center, Cornerstone Technical School, MPTCI Kabacan Technical School and Green Kings Technical Institute Corporation.
