DAVAO CITY (August 12) – The principal of Agriculture Elementary School in Midsayap was shot in an ambush early Tuesday morning, just as he was arriving at the school premises.
Police identified the victim as Arlyn Alcebar, who was riding in an SUV when unidentified gunmen opened fire at around 7:00 a.m. in front of the school gate.
According to initial reports, the assailants appeared to have been waiting for the victim and immediately fled the scene after the attack.
Alcebar sustained gunshot wounds and was rushed to a hospital in Midsayap for emergency treatment. Authorities have yet to release updates on his condition.
Police investigators are still determining the motive for the attack and are conducting a follow-up operation to track down the suspects.-Gio del Mundo
