COVID-19 cases hit 13K new infections on August 13

DAVAO CITY —  The Department of Health on Friday, August 13, recorded  13,177 new infections bringing the number of active cases to 96,395 or 5.6 percent of all cases in the country.

In a bulletin, the DOH states that of these active cases, 95.8 percent have shown mild symptoms, followed by those with severe symptoms at 1.4 percent, the asymptomatic at one percent, those with moderate symptoms at 0.97 percent, and those in critical condition at 0.8 percent.

It also recorded 299 new deaths reported, with the country’s total mortalities now at 29,838 or 1.74 percent of all Covid-19 infections.

“Sa patuloy na pagtaas ng mga kaso, pinaaalaalahanan po natin ang lahat na patuloy na sumunod sa minimum public health standards. Kapag naman nakaranas ng mga sintomas ay agad na mag isolate at kontakin ang inyong Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams (With the current rise in cases, we remind everyone to continue following minimum public health standards. If you experience symptoms, immediately isolate and contact your Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams),” the DOH said.

Based on the latest data on Covid-19 testing collected on Aug. 11, it said there were 57,355 individuals tested with 23.6 percent found to be infected.
