Customs and PDEA tightens airport security

DAVAO CITY —Government agencies tasked to secure the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Tightened border security of BOC-NAIA and PDEA resulted in another seizure of P6.8 Million Shabu concealed inside pressure cooker.

As the war on drugs of the Duterte administration rages on, the Bureau of Customs-NAIA and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) as part of the NAIA Drug Interdiction Task Group (NAIA-DITG) on March 30, 2022 seized shabu concealed in a pressure cooker.

The package from Malaysia was declared as “a multi-function pressure cooker” but was found to contain white crystalline substance weighing a total of 1011 grams, which was later verified as methamphetamine hydrochloride or “shabu” with an estimated value of Php6,874,800.00.

BOC-NAIA vows to continue to remain in the forefront of the war against illegal drugs as part of the directive of BOC Commissioner Rey Leonardo B. Guerrero.
