Customs busted Php 141M shabu from the US

DAVAO CITY — The Bureau of Customs at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on December 18, 2019 confiscated 20.8 kilos of methamphetamine or ‘shabu’ intercepted at the FEDEX warehouse in Pasay City

The Bureau of Customs in a press statement said the illegal drugs were concealed in two parcels which were declared as speakers and shipped from the United States and estimated to have a street value amounting to Php 141,440,000 million pesos.

These were discovered during the examination conducted by BOC personnel which resulted to the interception of 20.8 kilos of white crystalline substance tested positive for methamphetamine.

The seized drugs shall be turned over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) for further investigation.

The Philippine law prohibits the importation of dangerous drugs is a crime punishable under RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) in relation to RA 10863 (Customs Modernization Tariff Act)..
