DAVAO CITY, Philippines — Customs Commissioner Isidro Lapena ordered the return of his intelligence investigation service head to Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
Col. Wilkins Villanueva joined Lapena at the BoC on September when the later assumed office but on Wednesday, the former CIIS head was returned to his mother unit at the PDEA.
Villanueva who used to be the head of the PDEA in the National Capital Region during Lapena’s tenure.
Many were surprised when news broke off about Villanueva’s return to the PDEA.
Lapena just said the transfer of Villanueva to BoC and his return to PDEA was mutually agreed between him and new PDEA Chief Aaron Aquino.
Lapena, Villanueva and Aquino were previously assigned here in some areas of the region.
Villanueva was among the operatives who joined the raid which resulted to the confiscation of the P6.4-Billion drugs which until now puzzled the authorities.-Editha Z. Caduaya/Newsline.ph
