DAF-ARMM employee gunned down in Cotabato City

COTABATO CITY — Riding-in-tandem gunmen shot dead an employee of the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries – Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) here at past 5 p.m. Saturday, police said.

Senior Supt. Rolly Octavio, city police director, identified the victim as  Bayam Angkad Blah, , 43, of Sitio Malagapas, Barangay Rosary Heights 10, here.

“The victim had just finished eating with his family at a roadside restaurant when gunmen riding in tandem on a motorbike shot him,” Octavio said.

Blah, who succumbed to head and body gunshot wounds, was rushed by responding policemen to Notre Dame Hospital where he expired hours later.

The victim’s family quickly brought his remains to Datu Piang, Maguindanao for burial according to Islamic rites.

Relatives and friends claimed that Blah had no known enemies and is a very friendly person.

Police are now investigating the incident. -PNA
