DAVAO CITY (July 17) – The City Government of Davao, through its Educational System Benefit Unit (EBSU), has accepted 453 scholars for the academic year 2025–2026.

Of the total, 424 scholars qualified for tertiary education scholarships, while 29 were granted support for law and medical studies.

According to EBSU Technical Staff Emilio Domingo Jr., orientations for tertiary education scholars have already been conducted. Orientations for law and medical scholars are scheduled this week. During these sessions, scholarship policies—particularly the no “failing grade” requirement—are emphasized.

For tertiary education, scholars receive varying levels of assistance per semester:

  • Part A: ₱50,000 (118 scholars)
  • Part B: ₱40,000 (125 scholars)
  • Part C: ₱15,000 (181 scholars)

In medical school, 12 scholars were selected—11 full scholars and one half scholar. Full scholars receive ₱140,000 per semester for tuition and fees plus a ₱20,000 book allowance. Half scholars get ₱70,000 per semester and a ₱10,000 book allowance.

Seventeen law students also qualified for the program—seven as full scholars and ten as half scholars. Full scholars are entitled to ₱50,000 per semester for tuition and miscellaneous fees plus an ₱8,000 book allowance. Half scholars receive ₱25,000 per semester and a ₱4,000 book allowance.

Domingo shared that processing for all tertiary, medical, and law scholars has been completed. The EBSU is now focused on evaluating applicants for other programs, including the Financial Assistance Program for Lumad students, the Technical and Vocational Skills Training Program, and the Educational Assistance for persons with disabilities or special needs.
