DAVAO CITY — The city government of Davao has issued an alert to its residents to avoid going to high-risk barangays.
In a notice posted on Facebook the city government states “VERY IMPORTANT AND URGENT NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC Please avoid unnecessary travels to barangays marked as Very High Risk, High Risk, and Moderate Risk, including public markets (palengke), supermarkets, and all other establishments under these areas.
It added, “Whenever possible, everyone is strongly urged to also avoid going to the malls, banks, hospitals, churches, and all other areas where people meet, congregate or gather because of the higher chance of getting/contracting the virus.”
Based on the notice, the city identified 30 of the city’s 182 barangays as high risk.
Considered by health experts as very high risks barangays include 13-B; 21-C; 23-C; Buhangin Proper and Leon Garcia.
High-risk barangays include 5-A; 19-B; Agdao Proper; Catalunan Grande; Matina Crossing; Panacan; Talomo Proper and Tigatto.
Also considered as high-risk barangays (due to neighboring Very High-Risk Barangays) include 12-B; 14-B; 16-B; 17-B; 18-B; 22-C; 24-C; 25-C; 26-C; 27-C; 28-C; 30-C; 31-D; 33-D; Gov. Duterte; Monteverde, Sr; and Wilfredo Aquino.
Eight barangays are also identified as moderate risk, which includes: 10-A; Bago Gallera; Cabantian; Daliao; Gov. Bangoy; Indangan; Maa; Matina Aplaya and Sto. Niño.
While moderate high-risk barangays (due to neighboring High-Risk Barangays) include 2-A; 6-A; 8-A; 11-B; 15-B; 20-B; Bago Aplaya; Bucana; Catalunan Pequeño; Communal; Ilang; Langub; Mandug; Matina Pangi; Mudiang; Sasa and Tacunan.
It can be noted that those identified in the very high risk and high-risk areas are either big barangays or heavily populated which registered high coronavirus cases.
Barangays which were not mentioned were considered low-risk barangays.
