DAVAO CITY — The Davao City government is looking into the possibility of publishing specific areas based on the history of exposure of individuals who tested positive of the coronavirus.

Currently, what is published by the Department of Health (DOH) Davao Region is only the age, address, the onset of symptoms of patients, and history of travel.

The city government publishes a Covid-19 Risk Assessment Map on a weekly basis that identifies Very High Risk, High Risk, and Moderate Risk barangays in the city and serves as a travel guide for Dabawenyos.

But the city government wants the specific areas of exposure for other people to take extra precautions not to contract the coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

“Kini, para ang mga tao either dili na sila moadto or naay extra precaution nga buhaton kapag moadto sila didto. Nadiscuss nga it would be good kung masulti nato kung asa ang lugar para ang mga tao maghinay-hinay sila (This is for people to either do not go or take extra precaution when they go there. There is a discussion that it would be good that we can say where the particular place is so the people would take it slow),” she said during her Special Hour broadcast of the Davao City Disaster Radio on Monday.

Mayor Sara said that publishing a more specific area based on a patient’s history can make other people extra cautious about their travels around Davao City.

She, however, noted it is a challenge for the city to know the specific areas as some patients could not recall where they traveled.

This is why Mayor Sara said, she is still discussing as to how the city can implement the plan.

The mayor also bared that there are already Covid-19 patients who are employees of grocery stores, where people usually converge.-Newsline.ph with CIO
