Davao City Police files double murder charges vs ex-airport manager

DAVAO CITY — The Davao City Police Office filed a double murder case against a former Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) Region 11 area manager on March 8,

The cases against San Felix, 70-year-old Frederick, the police describned is a “crime of passion”.

San Felix stands as the suspect in the killing of his wife Cyndee Flores Florendo and their househelp Catherine Langgam which was committed just a step away from theirt house inSusana Heights, Barangay Baliok, Talomo District, Davao City.

The couple has two children, with ages 9 and 6 respectively,

Florendo was hit on the and died instantly while Langgam was hit on her nape and one bullet also hit her her while she was running to flee the scene, she was taken to Southern Philippine Medical Center where she died later.

Baliok police station chief Major Romeo Mapanao, Jr. said that they filed the double murder case on March 8, 2023. “He was inquest yesterday for the murder of Cyndee, his partner, and Cathe Langgam, their helper,” Mapanao Jr., said.

Mapanao added that all elements of murder is present in their case against San Felix. “First of all the death, there is his use of a gun, and also the intention or motive- they were just fighting, having an argument then he left that place and he took a gun, so those are the two heavy ones. In fact, it was affirmed by the prosecutor and that’s what was filed in court,” Mapanao Jr., said.

Mapanao added that this is not the first time that the couple’s fight reached the police station, “There is a cycle of a domestic fight, even one of the policeman here explained that he had responded sometime a year ago and the barangay even intervened for mediation.”

Mapanao added that San Felix’s gun is registered but his license to possess a firearm has expired.

Florendo’s remains now lies in state in a funeral parlor while Langgam is still at the Southern Philippines Medical Center.
