Davao Garbage Collector Falls from Truck

DAVAO CITY, Philippines — A tragic accident occurred involving a garbage collector in Davao City on Thursday, September 5.

Restituto Quirante, a 60-year-old resident of San Isidro village, Kilometer 6, Matina Pangi, fell from a garbage truck after becoming entangled in an electric wire while standing on top of the vehicle.

According to Theresa Orcullo, Operations Manager of DOM Medical Supply, Quirante was standing on the truck when he came into contact with the electric wire. The impact caused him to fall and sustain a severe head injury on the road.

Emergency responders from 911 arrived at the scene but found that Quirante had already succumbed to his injuries.
