Davao-Hongkong flight takes off

DAVAO CITY –— The Davao-Hong Kong direct flight took off on Sunday, October 8, via Royal Air Philippines.

Department of Tourism XI Regional Director Tanya Rabat-Tan said, “The air link signifies a significant milestone for Davao City, offering seamless access between these two dynamic destinations.”

In a press statement, the City Tourism Office indicated that the direct flight aims to attract business travelers and boost the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) industry, hence pushing international tourism growth, particularly in the Davao Region. The economic effects are far-reaching, with increased demand for lodging, local products, and tourism services reviving.

Royal Air Chief Vice President Captain Reynald Ramos led the inaugural flight route of Royal Air Philippines  connecting Davao to Hong Kong. The event was attended by Rabat-Tan, DCTOO OIC, Ms. Jennifer Romero, Mr. John Tria, DATA President, Ms. Nicole Ledesma, and DHRSMA President Ms. Liza Gamo.-Althea Beatrice Caduaya-Felizarta
