Davao Light provides two office spaces for city police

DAVAO CITY — The Davao Light and Power Company has donated two fabricated containers vans for police station no. 18 of the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) on September 8.

A press statement of the power firm which was released on September 20 disclosed that the Davao Light and its social development arm, the Aboitiz Foundation Inc., responded to the need of the police for additional office spaces to house the National Police Clearance Office and the Women and Children’s Protection desk.

City Police Director Colonel Alberto Lupaz, thanked the power firm on behalf of the more than two thousand personnel of the DCPO.

“This is a big help to capacitate the station in the performance of one of our functions. With that, thank you very much”, said PCol. Lupaz during the turnover and blessing of the facilities.

Davao Light President and COO Rodger Velasco said that the company believes in public-private partnerships.

“The DCPO has been our long-time partner and we are always grateful for their service. They perform a vital role in the community and they deserve our support”, said Velasco. He also mentioned that the company is proud to be part of DCPO’s success and added that the distribution utility hopes that the facilities will be of great contribution to law enforcement and the maintenance of peace and order in the city.

Davao Light, an AboitizPower subsidiary, aims to advance business and communities by providing solutions that pave the way for the safety, security, and development of its franchise area covering the cities of Davao, Panabo, and the municipalities of Carmen, Dujali, and Sto. Tomas.
