Davao police launches special investigation task group following businessman’s killing

DAVAO CITY – The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) has taken swift action in the wake of the recent shooting incident at KM5, Buhangin, Davao City, forming a Special Investigation Task Group (SITG) named ‘CASTILLONES’ to accelerate the investigation into the killing of businessman Giselo Velasco Castillones.

“In response to the shooting incident…at KM5, Buhangin, Davao City…DCPO has swiftly established a Special Investigation Task Group (SITG) named ‘CASTILLONES’ to expedite the investigation,” announced DCPO.

The tragic incident unfolded on the morning of November 22, 2023, in front of the Jollibee Buhangin Branch, where Castillones and his driver were attacked as they left in a gray Mitsubishi Expander after breakfast.

DCPO, collaborating with law enforcement agencies, has initiated counter operations and is actively working to identify and apprehend the individuals responsible for the crime. “Investigators are meticulously reviewing CCTV footage…and employing various means to solve the case,” stated the police office.

Urgent public cooperation is sought to report any relevant information promptly. “The public is urgently urged to report any relevant information to the police promptly. Such cooperation will aid in the swift identification and location of the perpetrators, facilitating justice and providing closure to the grieving family,” emphasized DCPO.

Strongly condemning the act of lawlessness, DCPO reassures the public of its commitment to upholding the law, emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy for heinous crimes.

The launch of the Special Investigation Task Group ‘CASTILLONES’ underscores the police force’s dedication to acquiring information through a thorough and exhaustive series of investigations.
