DAVAO CITY (August 2) –– Twenty-five high school students from across the Davao Region showcased their creativity and advocacy during a poster-making contest organized by the National Nutrition Council XI (NNC XI) in partnership with Davao City Youth for Green Environment Inc. (DCYGE Inc.).

Held on July 18 as part of the Nutrition Month celebration, the competition carried the subtheme “Nutrisyon at Kalikasan, Ating Pangalagaan!”, highlighting the connection between proper nutrition and environmental sustainability.

Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator Retsebeth Laquihon said the activity aims to empower young people to become advocates for healthier lifestyles and environmental stewardship through creative expression.

Participants were given two hours and 30 minutes to complete their posters and submit a 300-word attestation explaining how their artwork reflected the contest’s theme.

The Top 5 entries will be recognized during the Regional Nutrition Month Culmination Ceremony at the Royal Mandaya Hotel. The winning entry will represent the Davao Region in the National Nutrition Month Poster-Making Contest, where the national champion will receive a ₱20,000 cash prize.

The competition forms part of NNC XI’s continuing efforts to engage the youth in promoting nutrition awareness and environmental responsibility within their communities.
