DAVAO CITY –— Davao Oriental Governor Corazon N. Malanyaon encouraged the mayors of her province to push further their campaign on tourism and food security with more attractions for tourists and for investors to come in.
Last weekend, another world-class farm resort opened with Governor Corazon N. Malanyaon attending the grand opening in Banaybanay town.
The two-hectare Daya Farm and Adventure sits on a vast farm in Brgy. Maputi, which highlights the beautiful natural resources and landscapes of the place.
“This is the kind of tourism development that we need here in Davao Oriental, something we can be proud of. Truly world-class!,” Malanyaon in her inspiration message quipped.
The recent opening, accoring to Malanyaon will inspire more investors to come in and develop tourism destinations, as the province envisioned to be the tourism hub of Davao region given its beauty and rich resources from the farmland to the island.
Inside the far, one can stay, see and enjoy the vast cabins, villas, and cottages .
One of the distinct features is the wide garden lawns, and the 3-course ATV track.
Aside from tourism, Malanyaon is very aggresive in advancing the food security sector as the government provided support from the roadds to the farm implements,
In her meeting with the mayors, Malanyaon stressed the need to ensure food security by strengthening the agriculture programs which will support the needs of thr tourism industry.
She urged the local governmetn officials to be in the forefront in all the endeavors of their locality to boost the farmers to be more productive and be responsive to the increasing market demand.
Vegetable production, she pointed out is one of the best ventures that the farmers must undertake, as many residents get their supplies from the nearvy towns outside the province “Our soil is fertile here, all we need to the techniques and methods to start our venture, it is not easy but it will be when we know how to use technology.”
She encouraged the local chief executives to inspire their communities to grown their own food to cushion the impact of the two-year pandemic.
“If we walk together towards our common direction, I know we will reach the end of the road victorious and stable economically with strengthened tourism and acriculture sector.”-With report from PIO DavOR
