Death toll in Masara landslide hits 35

DAVAO CITY — The death toll in the Masara landslide has increased to 35.

The Municipal Risk Reduction and Management Office of Maco on Saturday released, “as of 6:00 pm. Saturday 35 cadavers have been recovered from ground zero:”

While 32 were injured and 77 remain missing based on the blotter of the Philippine National Police

The search and rescue operation halted for two hours when a magnitude 5.9 earthquake shook Mindanao region was succeeded by another magnitude 3.0.

The rescuers need to suspend the operation for safety.
