TAGUM CITY, Davao del Norte — The Department of Education (DepEd) – Compostela Valley Province Division became the first  ISO (International Organization for Standardization) certified division office in the Davao Region.

Phoebe Gay Refamonte, officer-in-charge assistant division superintendent, said the certification assured that services given to their clients are based on high standards.

“It is really a manifestation that we have lived up to our brand name 3P’s of quality education; pioneering in instructional innovation, propagating universal values and producing globally competent graduates,” Refamonte said.
She said the three-year certification demonstrates an organization’s ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements and to demonstrate continuous improvement.

“We have truly demonstrated that we can provide products and services that meet the clientele and regulatory requirements,” Refamonte said.

She said their frontline services in the accounting, administrative and issuance of salaries will now be fast-tracked.

“Payment of salaries, which consumes longer time, will now be addressed since everybody can function even if the in-charge was not around,” she added.

To sustain the ISO certification, Refamonte said they will be constantly monitored by a surveillance auditing team.

“This provides us with an opportunity to reflect on the preceding year and share the achievements, success and plans of our institution for the days to come,” she added.

DepEd-Compostela Valley Division applied for the certification in February. -PNA
