DepEd official’s wife wounded when armed men shot their car

COTABATO CITY —The wife of the official of the Department of Education in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat was injured when unknown suspects shot their car at 4:40 pm yesterday, Monday, April 8, at the National highway, Brgy Kalawag 2, Isulan, Sultan Kudarat.

Initial investigation conducted by personnel of Isulan PNP revealed that, Eric Balancio, the education program supervisor of the Sultan Kudarat Division Office and current Board of Director of CITERMPCO or Central Isulan Teachers Employees and Retirees Multi Purpose Cooperative, just got out of his car leaving wife wife Norilyn Javiaso Balancio inside the vehicle.

While waiting for her husband, two men onboard a motorcycle suddenly arrived and shot at their car and targeted the driver.

Norilyn who was seated beside the driver’s seat, was hit by the fragments of the broken glasses wounding her left arm.

The victim ran to the school while the suspects sped away on their motorcycle. The Isulan police is still investigating the incident

Balancio, 51 years old, works as a nurse in a public hospital and is a resident of Purok Lake View, Barangay Sampao, Isulan, Sultan Kudarat.
