DFA brings home 312 distressed OFWs from Qatar

DAVAO CITY — Some 312 overseas Filipino workers from Qatar arrived in the country as part of the continuing repatriation program of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

On Friday, the DFA through the Office of the Undersecretary for Migrant Workers’ Affairs (OUMWA) brought home the distressed OFWs from Qatar.

The latest batch of repatriates arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2 via Philippine Airlines flight PR 685.

The 312 Filipino repatriates underwent the appropriate medical protocols upon arrival as required by the Department of Health-Bureau of Quarantine.

They would also be required to undergo quarantine in accordance with the omnibus guidelines established by the Inter-Agency Task Force.

The whole-of-nation approach to repatriation involves the DFA coordinating with the Philippine Coast Guard, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Department of Tourism, Department of Health and the Philippine National Police.-Newsline
