President Rodgrigo Roa Duterte has administered the oath of office of Alan Peter Cayetano as the new Foreign Affairs Secretary. The oath of office was held on May 18, 2017 at the Presidential Guesthouse in Panacan, Davao City.
The Commission on Appointments confirmed Cayetano’s appointment as Secretary of Foreign Affairs replacing Acting Secretary Enrique Manalo. Joining Cayetano during the oath-taking ceremony were his wife Taguig City Mayor Maria Laarni ‘Lani’ Cayetano, his sister Taguig City-Pateros 2nd District Representative and former Senator Pia Cayetano and her son Lucas, his brother Lino Cayetano, Fille Cayetano, and Jennifer Reyes.
