DILG Secretary Año tested positive for COVID-19

DAVAO CITY — Interior and Local Government Secretary Eduardo Año has been tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19), he got his result on Tuesday, March 31.

In a statement Año stated “Today, March 31, I received the result from RITM informing me that I am positive for COVID-19.”

“I make this announcement to call the attention of all persons I had close contact with to go on self-quarantine and observe any symptoms, in accordance with Department of Health (DOH) guidelines,” he said.

“The result of my test will not in any way dampen my spirit and energy to do my job,” he added.

Año has been on self-quarantine since March 26, and got tested on March 27.

He went on self-quarantine after Armed Forces Chief-of-Staff General Felimon Santos was tested positive.
