ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines — Unidentified armed men kidnapped an engineer of the Department of Public Works and Highways in Barangay Anuling, Patikul, Jolo Sulu, early morning Wednesday, February 14, 2018.
Authorities identified the victim as engineer Enrico Nee of DPWH-ARMM Sulu.
Reports reaching the Joint Task Force Sulu revealed, the victim was was forcibly taken at gun point by undetermined number of men onboard a colored black and red tamaraw type jeep.
The victim was waiting for a tricycle ride approximately 200 meters away from his residence at about 7:45 in the morning, when the still unidentified suspect alighted from the vehicle and took Nee at gunpoint.
The Joint Task Force Sulu had alerted all checkpoints to possibly intercept the suspects and safely recover the victim. Massive rescue efforts are also undertaken by the military and police authorities.-Richard G. Falcatan and Mirasol Monteza/Newsline.ph
