COMPOSTELA VALLEY, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte told the military and the police to shoot him is he extends his term even for a day in 2022.
In his speech before the military and their families Monday, January 22, Duterte said “Ako sinasabi ko sa inyo ngayon, pag ako sumobra sa aking termino, isang araw lang, I am now asking the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the PNP not to allow me or anybody else to mess up with the Constitution,” Duterte emphasized.
(I will tell you now, If I go beyond my term, even for a day, I am now asking the Armed Forced of the Philippines (AFP) and the PNP not to allow me or anybody else to mess up with the Constitution).
He added, he has the solemn duty “to protect the Constitution, and to protect the people. Remember it as a solemn duty.”
“Kaya ako ‘pag sumobra, gusto kong mag-diktador, barilin ninyo ako. Hindi ako nagbobola. Dalhin mo ‘yung mga green tip mo, ubusin mo doon sa — kung saan ako nakatindig,” he vowed.
(IF I go beyond, become a dictator, shoot me, I am not playing with you, bring your green tip, fire all the ammunition it where I am standing).
