Duterte’s 3rd SONA done in 35 minutes

DAVAO CITY (July 10) —President Rodrigo Duterte  on Monday said his 3rd State of the Nation Address on July 23,  will be over in 35 minutes.

Duterte who presided the regular Cabinet  meeting Monday at the Palace was quoted by Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque saying “I will read my SONA speech which should not be more than 35 minutes.”

The 3rd SONA  will be shorter according to Roque because  a pre-SONA forum is now being conducted by various Cabinet clusters.

In an interview with DZMM,  Roque stressed “It is shorter since we had pro-SONA led by various chairmen of the Cabinet cluster committees.”

Duterte is used to long speeches as give emphasis on his experience being  the Davao City Mayor, his first SONA was recorded at   90 minutes while  the second  SONA lasted for  120 minutes.

The government’s Philippine News Agency reported, that the Economic Development Cluster and Infrastructure Cluster, Friday reported their respective accomplishments during the 2018’s pre-SONA entitled “Tatak ng Pagunlad” held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City.

Dubbed as “Tatak ng Pagbabago”, the pre-SONA forum will resume on July 11 featuring the Participatory Governance and Human Development and Poverty Reduction Clusters under sub-theme “Tatak ng Malasakit at Pagkakaisa”.

The Climate Change Adaptation, Mitigation and Disaster Risk Resiliency and the Security, Justice and Peace Clusters will report their respective accomplishments during the third and last part of the forum entitled “Tatak ng Katatagan” on July 18.-Editha Z. Caduaya/NewsLine.ph
