Election officer and husband killed in Maguindanao ambush

KIDAPAWAN CITY —— Bai Maceda Lidasan-Abo, the election officer of Datu Odin Sinsuat, has died following an ambush on Wednesday, March 26.

Maguindanao del Norte Comelec Officer Atty Nabil Mutia said Abo succumbed to her injuries while in the hospital after being shot alongside her husband earlier.

Her husband, Jojo Abo, died on the spot when the couple was ambushed while traveling in their car to report for work Wednesday morning.

The assailants opened fire on their vehicle, resulting in the immediate death of Jojo Abo and severe injuries to Lidasan-Abo, who later passed away.

Authorities are investigating the incident and have yet to determine the motive behind the attack.
