DAVAO CITY – Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. announces necessary power interruptions in the northern part of their franchise area on Thursday, July 13.
Davao City and Davao del Norte residents should brace themselves for emergency power interruptions scheduled for July 13, as announced by Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. These interruptions are vital for hotspot correction at Davao Light’s metering facility in NGCP Bunawan Substation. While the company assures customers that it will make every effort to restore power promptly, there may be instances where restoration may extend beyond the given schedule due to unforeseen circumstances.
To minimize inconvenience, load from the affected lines will be transferred to nearby lines for a duration of 30 minutes between 1:30 a.m. and 2:30 a.m. The normalization or return of load to its normal set-up will also take place for 30 minutes between 5:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m.
The customers along Mamay Road, from Comus Grill to Crossing Daang Maharlika Highway, and those along Daang Maharlika Highway, from Crossing Mamay Road to Orange Grove Hotel, as well as neighboring areas, will be specifically affected by these power interruptions. Customers along Buhangin-Lapanday Road, from Samulco Buhangin to Panorama Subdivision, and those in the entire Cabantian, Communal, Indangan areas, and a portion of Buhangin, along Diversion Road from COA Office to Panacan Cemetery, including Catitipan, Davao International Airport, and neighboring areas will also experience service disruptions.
Additionally, a four-hour power interruption from 2:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. will be implemented on the same day to facilitate the hotspot correction. Customers in a portion of Panabo, from Panabo Bus Terminal to Panabo Wharf, including Gaisano Grand Panabo, Maryknoll, and neighboring areas, as well as those in Carmen, Sto. Tomas, Dujali, including Paquibato, Manay, Tubod, Malitbog, TADECO, DAPECOL, La Libertad, Kimamon, Katipunan, Luna, and nearby areas in Davao del Norte, will be affected during this period.
Davao Light extends its apologies for the inconvenience caused by these emergency power interruptions and assures customers that every effort will be made to restore electric service as scheduled or even earlier, if possible. The company emphasizes the importance of safety and advises the public to exercise caution when passing through areas where line repairs and maintenance are being carried out. Heeding warning signs, especially in areas with heavy equipment operation, is strongly recommended.
