Engineer shot dead by construction worker in Cotabato City

COTABATO CITY – An engineer was shot dead by a construction worker at the KCC Mall construction site in central Cotabato City on Wednesday afternoon, February 19, 2025.

The victim, Engineer Roland Dagu-an, 28, suffered three gunshot wounds and died instantly. Another construction worker, Reno Delos Santos, was injured in the incident.

According to the police, the suspect—also a construction worker—was arrested on-site after the shooting. Authorities believe the attack was driven by a personal grudge against Dagu-an, who hailed from Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur.

The investigation is ongoing as police determine the motive behind the crime and any prior disputes between the suspect and the victim.
