Ex-Dumingag Zambo Sur vice mayor survives slay try, 4 persons of interest held

ILIGAN CITY (March 21) — Four suspected riding-in-tandem gunmen shot Wednesday morning former Vice-Mayor Nacianceno Pacalioga, Jr. of Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur, in Barangay Esperanza, Bacolod, Lanao del Norte. 

The former vice mayor is now in safe condition and recuperating in a hospital here.

In a follow up operations, the Maigo, Lanao del Norte police arrested for persons of interest and now being held for questioning.

Initial investigation by the Bacolod municipal police station said Pacalioga was travelling from Iligan on his way to Zamboanga del Sur but got off from his car to urinate when the suspects fired upon him.

In 2017, Pacalioga was dismissed by the Office of the Ombudsman for serious dishonesty and falsification of official document in connection with his SALN as mayor for the years 2011, 2012, and 2014.-Divina M. Suson/NewsLine.ph
