MANILA — President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed former Philippine National Police (PNP) Directorate for Intelligence, Gregorio Pimentel, as Deputy Director General of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

Duterte appointed Pimentel on June 4 but a copy of his appointment paper was released to media on Monday (June 10).

Pimentel will replace Jesus Fajardo, who has appointed as deputy commissioner of the Bureau of Customs (BOC).

Prior to his stint as PNP Directorate for Intelligence, Pimentel was head of the PNP Highway Patrol Group in Davao City.

In January 2018, Duterte was primary sponsor at the wedding of Pimentel and his wife, singer and Social Welfare Assistant Secretary Michelle Ortega.-PNA
