Fallen power line leaves 2 dead, 2 hurt

DAVAO CITY – The Davao Light and Power Company (Davao Light) said in an official statement that four bystanders were electrocuted on Friday due to a fallen power line in Purok 15, Barangay Panacan here.

“Two people died on the spot while another two sustained injuries and were brought immediately by Central 911 to the Southern Philippines Medical Center for treatment,” Davao Light said.

Davao Light said it “is reaching out to the family members of the victims to provide them the immediate support they need during these lamentable times.”

The names of the victims are not readily available as of this writing.

“We regret that this accident happened despite proactive measures to ensure safety. The company is working closely with local government authorities to investigate the cause of this incident,” Davao Light said.
