Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. the 17th President of the Philippines takes oath

DAVAO CITY – At exactly 12:00  noon on June 30, Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. took his oath as the 17th President of the country at the Philippine National Museum.

Marcos, the only son of the late President Ferdinand E. Marcos was the 4th  president of the Philippines to take his oath before the museum.

Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo administered the oath of the President. He was joined by First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos and their children,

The Philippine history has recorded the highest number of votes cast as Marcos won the presidency by a landslide 31,629,783 votes, or more than 16 million votes ahead of second placer presidential candidate Leni Robredo.

Former Presidents Fidel Ramos, Joseph Estrada and Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo attended his inauguration.

Before the oath-taking, Senate President Vicente Sotto read the Joint Resolution from both Houses of Congress that declared Marcos as the 17th president of the Philippines.
