EDMONTON, Canada — The Filipino community here started the registration for the 2017 Corpus Christi Parish Charity Golf Tournament set June 19 at the Mill Woods Golf Club, here.
Among the first to throw support for the purpose are Filipino-Canadian business owners.
Tournament chairman Joseph Duenas said 74 players have signed up as of Monday, June 5, 2017.
Registration fee is $200 with a $100 tax receipt and the competition follows the Texas Scramble with four players to a team.
Duenas presided the meeting at the Corpus Christi Parish attended by Fr.Joseph Vadaserry, Deacon Gem Mella, tournament co-chairman Manuel Ibasco and volunteers from the Catholic Women’s League.
He bared that Filipino business owners have also shown support to the charity event like Crosstown Auto Centre whose president is Filipino-Canadian Joe Medina and Chris Ayson, owner of WeFix Autoglass Ltd.
The organizers have sent letters to other members of the Filipino business community for support to raise funds for the Church’s building fund.-Moses Billacura/Newsline.ph
