Filipino Para Athletes bring honor to PH

DAVAO CITY —Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. lauded Philippine delegates to the 4th Asian Para Games medalists in a reception at the Palace early this week.

“You embody the spirit of the Bagong Pilipino, proving that excellence is more than a goal— it’s part of who we are,” says the President.

He added “We will continue to invest in our athletes through improved facilities, medical support, and holistic program.”

James Infiesto a Chess master and coach of Davao City team said, “Bringing honor to the country and showcasing the best among us is always an honor and our source of pride.”

The Philippine Para Chess Team medalists in the 4th Asian Para Games held on October 2023 in Hangzhou included:

The victorious para athletes were composed of Physically Impaired Partially Blind champions.

The National Council on Disability Affairs warmly welcomed the Philippine Para Chess Team, celebrating their triumph.

“The Philippine Para Chess Team’s success is an inspiration for generations, reminding us that passion and dedication can overcome any obstacle into victory. May their journey contribute to a more inclusive and understanding society, where everyone’s accomplishments are celebrated, reflecting the true essence of the Filipino spirit,” the agency described.
