Four Kagay-anons tops nursing exam

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (June 24) — Four Kagay-anons secured a top spot in the 2018 Nursing Licensure Exam (NLE).

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), announced that 4,326 out of 9,873 passed the Nursing Licensure Exam (NLE), which was held in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Tacloban, Tuguegarao, and Zamboanga.

The Professional Regulation Commission also includes the lists of Top Performing Schools, and Top 10 passers. Andrew Rey Lao Del Fierro and Philip Gabriel Gillegao Gimotea, from Xavier University—Ateneo de Cagayan, shared the Top 2 with an average of 87.20 percent. Emman Mabalinga Parangue, a graduate of Capitol University, former Cagayan Capitol College, landed at 4th spot with 86.60 percent, while Ellein Jericka Ramos Tong, from Xavier University, with 85.40 percent stayed on the 10th spot.

“Knowing yourself– knowing your learning style. You should know the time, where you are effective and efficient on learning. Somehow, I wished to be part on the roster of top notchers, but not at the level of top 2,” Philip Gabriel Gillegao Gimotea, said.

The Professional Regulation Commission, ranked Xavier University in the top spot of top performing school, after all of its 59 NLE examinee passed the board exam, together with West Visayas State Unversity – La Paz, with an outstanding 170/170; and Velez College, with 70/70.

Xavier University—Ateneo de Cagayan, College of Nursing, maintained its 100% passing rate for eight consecutive years. “There has to be a human intervention, you have to transfer the passion, and of course, you have to had the credibility.” XU, College of Nursing, Dean Palad, said.
