GenSan opens Kalilangan trade fair

GENERAL SANTOS CITY – Thirty Five (35) Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) exhibitors joined the 2023 Kalilangan Trade Fair here which opened on February 20, 2023, at Veranza Mall.

The exhibitors in collaboration with the City Economic Management and Cooperative Development Office, Mindanao State University, and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), displayed an array of the city’s best, most competitive, and most affordable products.

In her message, General Santos City Mayor Lorelie Pacquiao, who threw full support to the event, stressed the importance of connecting the interpreneurs to the consumers, as the chief executive believes that the MSMEs are the frintline economic driver of the city.

Empowering the city’s own MSME’s is among her administration’s thrusts, citing the huge business tax collection which the city derived from business enterprise.

The city government, Paquiao said raked P40 million from the business permit collection in January 2023 when the permits were renewed for the current fiscal year.

She thanked the participants for tursting her administratio, as she emphasized there will always be ease in doing business here.

The exhibitors are given the avenue to innovate their products for them to be able to compete with other markets and industries outside the city.
