The gathering was organized by Myrna Padilla, founder of Mindanao Hong Kong Workers Federation, and other supporters of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte and Secretary Go.

The supporters are encouraging the long-time aide of President Duterte to run for senator in next year’s midterm elections.

“Lagi siyang nagta-trabaho, nasa likod lang, kahit may media o wala, trabaho lang siya nang trabaho ang daming natulungan,” Padilla, who worked in Hong Kong for about two decades, said in an interview.

For his part, Restituto Arreza cited Secretary Go’s capacity being a trusted aide of President Duterte.

“Initiative namin para gawin ito, ine-encourage namin na tumakbo siya, siyempre pinagkakatiwalaan siya ni President Duterte, ibig sabihin may kapasidad siya,” Arreza said.

More than 200 Filipinos attended the gathering.-pnd
