Hundreds benefit from the city government’s caravan

DAVAO CITY – Hundreds of residents from barangay Amsipit in Maasim town, Sarangani province benefited from the Caravan services provided by various government agencies under the retooled community support program on Friday, February 17, 2023.

It was the fifth caravan since the program was launched last year. The program has benefitted the residents from Barangays Bales, Malbang, Pananag, and Lumasal all in Sarangani Province.

The caravan services included the free medical and dental check-up, eye check-up, free haircut, business permits, and licensing processing and provided medical devices for the persons with disability.

The attendees were given food stuff and livelihood assistance. The children too were treated with toys, slippers, and oral hygiene kits much to their delight.

The activity was done in collaboration with the different governmetn agencies in the province along with the national governmetn agencies such as : the Philippine Statistics Authority; Philippine national Police; Department of Trade and Industry; National Housing Authority; Social Security System; DOST and the PhilHealth some private sector representatives also joined to help serve the residents.

The goal of the caravan service is to deliver government programs, especially in remote areas to prevent residents from being influenced by local communist groups.

This is also part of the whole-of-nation approach to maintain peace and order under the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC). -Eugene Hinutan
