Husband killed, wife injured in Maguindanao ambush

SHARIFF AGUAK, Maguindanao del Sur (AP) – In a tragic incident, a man was killed while his wife was injured in an ambush that occurred in Shariff Aguak on the night of October 10, 2023, with the suspects still unidentified.

Shariff Aguak PNP Chief Major Haron Macabanding identified the victims as Solayman Jamal and Bainor Jamal, a married couple residing in Brgy. Labu-labu, Datu Hoffer.

Macabanding confirmed that Solayman, who was driving the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene, while his wife was rushed to the hospital for treatment.

The couple was traveling in a white Ford Ranger with license plate number NER 6511 from Datu Hoffer to Datu Piang when they were suddenly ambushed by unknown assailants who opened fire on them.

Local authorities are currently conducting an investigation into the incident.
