Kapalong teachers join in the simultaneous planting of  236k trees

DAVAO CITY — The teachers from Kapalong town in Davao del Norte joined teachers from all over Region XI in simultaneously planting 236,000 trees last week.

The Simultaneous Tree-Planting Activity of all public schools for 236,000 trees was held at Maniki Central Sped Center Elementary School.

The event was initiated by the Department of Education which is aimed at inculcating to the minds of the young learners the love to protect the environment.

Mayor Tess Timbol said those who participated in the activity were enlightened about their role in protecting the environment to cushion the impact of global warming.

Timbol said Planting 236,000 trees can have a positive impact on the immediate life of our world.

It was also a good way to teach children the principles of environmental stewardship and build a good environment for their livelihood, she added.

The initiative of Maniki Central Sped Center Elementary School will also help to acquire a good attitude to take care of our environment for the next generations.

The activity was led by Maniki Central Elementary School SPED Center under the leadership of Kapalong East District Supervisor Dr. Ana Redaniel and teachers and this is supported by LGU Kapalong led by Mayor Maria Theresa R. Timbol and the office of the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office.
