DAVAO CITY— Jeanelyn Villavende, the 26-year-old Overseas Filipino Workers from Norallah, South Cotabato was sexually abused even before she was beaten and killed by her female employer on December 28, 2019.

Justice Secretary Menardo Guevara in a statement to reporters on Sunday revealed, the autopsy result conducted by NBI medico-legal Dr. Ricardo Rodaje, showed signs of sexual abuse.

“There were clear indications of sexual abuse,” Guevarra said , adding “Old healed wound indicating that Villavende has been battered prior to the fateful incident.”

The NBI conducted an investigation and case build-up and might file charges against the suspects behind Villavende’s death.

Until now, the recruitment agency of the victim remained mum on her case, as reports have it, Villavende plead for help a month before her tragic death.

The family is hoping that justice will be served and that the recruitment agency will be held liable.
