Law enforcers storm Quiboloy’s properties, left empty handed

April 10, 2024 by Editha Z. Caduaya

DAVAO CITY —  Joint operatives on Wednesday stormed the four properties of fugitive church leader Apollo Quiboloy here and his vacation house in Island Garden City of Samal but they ended their visit empty handed, the self-proclaimed “son of god” was nowhere to be found.

“Wala gayud sya, wala namu nakita, (He was not there, we didn’t see him), ” National Bureau of Investigation XI Regional Director Archie Albao, told Newsline Philippines in an interview.

Over a dozen operatives led by the NBI together with the team from the Office of the Senate’s Sergeant-at-Arms and the Philippine National Police created four teams to find Quiboloy in the four properties.

Brigadier General Alden Delvo, Regional Director of the PBP XI at about 8:40 AM of April 10, 2024, coordination meeting on the service of Contempt Warrant for Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy held at NBI Regional Office XI together with personnel from the Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms (OSSA), RFU 11, CIDG and DCPO.

At 9:26 AM of the same date, the said Contempt Warrant was received by Atty. Israelito P. Torreon, legal counsel of Pastor Quiboloy at KJC Compound, Phil-Japan Friendship Highway, Bajada Flyover, Davao City. The team proceeded to Prayer Mountain, Brgy Tamayong, Calinan District, Davao City as the second possible location of Quiboloy.

The law enforcers also visited his property in Samal Island; the Glory Mountain, Prayer Mountain and staff even showed Quiboloy’s sleeping quarter in Barangay Tamayong, Davao City and the Kingdom of Jesus Christ Compound in Buhangin Diversion Road here.

Asked why it seemed that the personnel in Quiboloy’s properties were so comfortable in dealing with law enforcers? Albao said “It shows that they are not hiding anything and they expect us anytime.”

In those places, the security guards at the entrances warmly welcomed the law enforcers and staff guided them on what seemed like a guided tour inside Quiboloy’s properties.

After long hours, law enforcers went home empty handed.

The Senate’s Sergeant-at-Arms has only until tomorrow to return the warrant of arrest while the NBI and PNP has until Friday to serve the same as it has only 10-day validity.

Albao however said “If they cannot serve the warrant of arrest to Quiboloy, “Next week the court will have to issue an Alias Warrant because the original warrant issued by the court could not be served.

“The alias warrant will be issued and that means, it is always standing, it is always active, allowing us to continue their efforts to locate and apprehend the individual named in the warrant,” Albao emphasized.

Marcos rejects Quiboloy’s conditions

Quiboloy has earlier said, he would rather shoot himself that get caught by the law enforcers.

He also set conditions for his surrender but President Ferdinand Marcos said the beleaguered evangelist will be treated fairly if he surrenders.
