LGU condemns sexual abuse of 4-year-old child

STO. TOMAS, DAVAO DEL NORTE— A media report of a 4-year-old child who was allegedly abducted and sexually molested is making rounds on social media.  

The Santo Tomas LGU expressed grave concern and registered its strongest condemnation on the abuses that continue to be committed against children as such in this instant case. 

Since the LGU learned about the incident, Mayor Ernesto Evangelista immediately ordered the Santo Tomas PNP headed by Police Lt. Col Frederick Deles to conduct investigation and probe the alleged incident of abduction and sexual abuse of a 4-year-old child, who is currently confined in an unnamed hospital.

As of this writing, the PNP has yet to determine the status of the victim since they have yet to receive the medico-legal report.

Meantime, Evangelista has also ordered the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) to provide the needed financial and food assistance to the family of the victim. 

Evangelista’s Dangpanan Ni Tomas program has already expressed commitment to assist the family in terms of legal procedure of the case.

The Santo Tomas LGU through the MSWDO has also worked on the free hospitalization of the victim to ensure that the child gets the needed medical services and assistance. 

Due to the sensitivity of the case, the public has also been reminded that the family and the victims of sexual offenses such as this case, must be provided utmost confidentiality.

The Santo Tomas PNP is already working on the case and has committed to help the family in attaining justice that they so deserve.
