Local gov’t assists parents of child laborers in Maasim, Sarangani

MAASIM — The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Sarangani Field Office, in collaboration with the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) in Maasim, distributed starter kits to 26 parents of child laborers in Maasim, Sarangani Province, as part of the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP) Starte Kit Project.

The turnover ceremony took place on November 6, where a total of 26 beneficiaries received starter kits, with each kit valued at 716,280 pesos.

Local government officials encouraged the beneficiaries to utilize the starter kits and equipment to meet their daily needs and support their children’s education.

The DOLE Sarangani Field Office expressed hope that the program will continue to prosper, with the collaboration of local government units in Maasim, PESO Maasim, and DOLE, to assist parents of child laborers and alleviate their hardships.

The DILP Starter Kit Project provides families with an additional source of income, ensuring that their children can attend school and have access to the necessities needed to improve their quality of life.
