Dear doctor,
You are away from us, but every time I read news about doctors or medical practitioners getting infected or have died over the coronavirus pandemic, I shed tears. I pause and pray for you to whatever language my heart can offer.
I know you are now taking care of your patients inside the hospital. You left your family back home to serve the people who direly need your presence.
It pains me. My heart bleeds, but it is your sworn duty, I understand.
I asked you, how’s your mother who is now a senior citizen, and you answered me “She is okay. I call her every now and then and been asked to follow health protocol during COVID challenge.”
I did cry when you told me “4 na ang doctors na dead ‘te. Ang president sa among society PPS dead na. And daghan intubated karon mga specialists, amping mo diha (4 doctors are dead auntie, the president of our society PPS is already dead, many are intubated even the specialist, please take care) .”
For her niece and nephew, she said advised “Please amping ta. Ang mga bata cge na lng mu chat para malingaw pud sila (Let us be careful, for the kids-you should talk always so they will be entertained).
I know you are doing the right thing, I assure you. Hence, I WILL DO THE RIGHT THING — I WILL STAY AT HOME.
Let us make a vow- YOU STAY AT THE HOSPITAL FOR US; I WILL STAY AT HOME FOR YOU.
I love you and I care for you dear Pamangkin.
Tell fellow members of your profession- SALAMAT! SALUDO KAMI SA INYO!
