MANILA – The national government is studying possibility of building a bridge linking Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
Budget Secretary Benjamin Diokno is asking the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) to study the the possibility of building the bridge to link the three islands.
President Rodrigo Duterte earlier made public his plan to link the islands through infrastructure giving emphasis to access and lower the transport cost giving farmers easy transport.
The plan will mean P9 trillion budget in the next six years along with the construction of new access roads, transport terminals and basically providing jobs to the construction sector.
The construction of the link bridge will also boost the tourism and manufacturing sector of the country.
As it is now, only Luzon and Visayas islands are connected through the San Juanico bridge.
