Magnitude 5.1 quake jolts Davao Occidental

DAVAO CITY — Just about 22 hours after the magnitude 7.1 earthquake shook the town, another magnitude 5.1 quake was felt in Jose Abad Santos in Davao Occidental at around 6:45 in the evening, January 22.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology reported that that the epicenter was in Jose Abad Santos, with Depth = 114 kilometers which occurred in 05.05N, 127.57E – 234 km S 66° E of said town.

Jose Abad Santos Mayor Jason John A. Joyce on Friday morning said the earthquake on January 21 did not leave damage to his town.
